Transformers 4: Age of Extinction has wrapped filming, and fans are eagerly awaiting an official trailer. In the meantime, new pictures from the set have been released, as well as a first look preview video of the new vehicles.
Optimus Prime’s new robot mode was recently revealed on the cover of Empire. Inside, the publication reports on the film's plot:
"This fourth film in the franchise is something of a fresh start, and sees an Earth scarred by the events of the last three films but moving on after the disappearance of all giant robots. When Mark Wahlberg's inventor, Cade Yeager, discovers a buried Transformer, the stage is set for the return of the giant beasties."
A series of new behind the scenes pictures have also been revealed, showing Optimus’ truck mode charging towards a car that has been split in half. Another shot shows Michael Bay manning a green screen robot arm.
A video has also leaked from the set in Hong Kong that hints that Optimus Prime will die in the new film. Hollywood Hills translated the video's voiceover, revealing Optimus Prime saying his goodbyes to both Wahlberg (Cade) and the Autobots:
"There remains a price on my head, and I risk endangering you if I stay. Cade when you find the remaining stones, mark one as my soul. Defend this family Autobots, as they have you, goodbye, don't forget me."
Meanwhile, Flix Movies has released a first look preview video that highlights the films new vehicles.
Earlier in the year, the films producer, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, confirmed redesigns for both Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, when he spoke to Beijing News:
“I can not disclose the specifics, but you can be sure that the joining of the Dinobots will give the audience new excitement. In addition to Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, the appearance of these classic roles changed, today the world’s coolest, most exciting cars will appear in the film, including China’s vehicles, whether you are a car enthusiast, you will feast your eyes and be shocked by them.”
