Bilal Releases New Rendition of 'All for Love' for Upcoming Album 'Live at Glasshaus'

Bilal has dropped another teaser for his forthcoming album, "Live at Glasshaus": the classic hit, "All for Love," recorded with an ensemble cast featuring Questlove on drums, Robert Glasper on piano, and Burniss Travis on bass.

Bilal's first live release, "Live at Glasshaus" was recorded in one night in December 2023 at Brooklyn's Glasshaus, before an intimate studio audience of 100 fans. Also collaborating with him is the rapper, Common, whom Bilal affectionately calls his "big brother." The set features classics from Bilal's 23-year career, including tracks from his highly acclaimed shelved LP, "Love for Sale." Its release undercut by label disputes and a premature leak, the album has attained legendary status among fans. Its success encouraged Bilal to continue writing music. In an interview with journalist Arielle Gray, he said "Because the music was so good, it kind of created a life of its own. It broke away into a space where I was able to be free to do what I wanted to do."

"All for Love" was a standout track from "Love for Sale." Bilal starts subdued in this live rendition, but eventually rises to the "raw emotion and intricate musicianship that have come to define his work." Glasper bridges the two segments with his soulful keyboard playing, incorporating a bit of Miles Davis' "Milestones." The release was preceded three weeks prior by "Something to Hold"-another "Love for Sale" track on the "Live at Glasshaus" setlist.

The 11-track album is set to come out on vinyl, June 14. Tickets are also available for a one-time only livestream of the recorded performance, scheduled for June 9.
