Award-winning actress and singer Amandla Stenberg will perform a stirring rendition of John Williams' 'Force' theme, also known as 'Binary Sunset' as part of the new TV series in the 'Star Wars' franchise, 'The Acolyte.'
The official 'Star Wars' site recently released a stunning new video featuring Stenberg playing the violin.
Sharing a video of her performance on social media, Stenberg said that she was able to better understand her character, Mae, through music.
She wrote that music is always where she starts when building a career. She shared that she spent months in the 'Star Wars' scores while filming, developing a love like so many for 'Binary Sunset.'
Stenberg called the performance at the newly-named John Williams Music Building on Sony Pictures' historic Culver City lot in Los Angeles "a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and it's something that I'll hold forever."
She also told the viewers that she does not think people can love 'Star Wars' without loving the score.
The actress was first introduced to classical music when she was offered free after-school violin lessons in the third grade, or around eight or nine, as part of a free music education program by the LA school district, for which she thanked in her post.
She wrote, "I will never forget how consumed by wonder my tiny soul was when I played in an orchestra- the magic of being responsible for this puzzle piece that, when combined with a room of swelling sounds and feeling hearts, became something so large and powerful it felt supernatural. That was when music became my favorite thing in the world."
Furthermore, she claimed she left the violin behind as a teenager. However, her love for music was rekindled when her family found her grandfather's old violin, which she has been playing ever since.
In a statement, she thanked her music teachers, studio engineers, and Williams, saying this was one of the greatest honors of her life.
She praised Williams as he can distill the most profound emotions and worlds into the simplest, most compelling, beautiful melodies, which is mastery.
