Americana/country singer-songwriter Jayce Turley releases his new album: "Broke Down." Now out via Rock Ridge Music, the record sees the 19-year-old Greenup County, KY, native blend blues and honky-tonk soundscapes with his honest lyricism and songwriting, offering a glimpse into his bluegrass roots.
About Jayce Turley's 'Broke Down'
As per the Americana music blog The Amp, Turley "represents the upcoming generation's eyes forward," while also "drawing inspiration from both modern musicians inspired by vintage sounds and the vintage sounds that paved the road for those influences."
The same is true for the young artist's latest record, especially after Jason Groves of Lexington's Sneak Attack Studio jumped on Turley's camp to produce, mix, master, and engineer his imminent album.
As per the country singer-songwriter, Groves "made [his] dreams come true and really unlocked the album's full potential," specifically freshening up the Turley's already remarkably "aged" sound.
Underscoring the mature stories he tells twice his age, Turley's backing band Cardinal Point, comprises guitarist Dale Blankenship, keyboardist Maclean James, bassist Patrick Turley, and drummer Cameron Anthony Miller.
"They really assisted in me becoming the person and musician I am today," shared the artist. "They helped me find my sound. This album was not something that was only my doing. I put my all into this thing, but my part was just one of many that brought it all together."
"Through our combined ideas, ambition, and countless hours of work, everybody really helped bring it to life," he continued. "In a totally literal sense, blood, sweat, and tears really went into this record. I hope the listener feels that when they hear it."
Stream "Broke Down" now, comprising advance singles "Rust," which Glide Magazine says has "a dark lyrical path with upbeat country-Americana; "Misery," a fictional blues-rock tale; and the album's simultaneously released title track.
