Pulitzer Prize-winning community cultural center Theater for the New City (TNC) has recently announced the full schedule of its forthcoming 29th annual Lower East Side Festival of the Arts.
About the Lower East Side Festival of the Arts
The indoor show includes performances from over 200 art organizations, independent artists, poets, puppeteers, and filmmakers, and will kick off this coming Friday, May 24. The productions will take the stage from 6 PM to midnight local time each day at four of TNC's theaters.
In addition, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, May 25, vendors, food sellers, and local restaurants alike will populate the closed-off block of East Tenth Street between First and Second Avenues with booths.
The performances will run through Sunday, May 26, in and around Theater for the New City, 155 First Ave. (at E. 10th Street). Admission is completely free, however, the organization will gratefully accept any donations.

This annual event was first presented on June 14, 1996, and continued for two more days until June 16.
The three-day festival has grown in recognition since its start over two decades ago and has since seen a wide variety and expansive cohort of theater, dance, performance, music, film, literary, and visual artists.
Similarly, the upcoming iteration will see the same turnout of artists, alongside afternoon performances for and by kids on Saturday afternoon. Afterward, a fine art show will be held across the fest's runtime in the theater's lobby gallery,
A film program will also be presented on Saturday, from 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM, featuring works by authors starting on May 24.
