‘Nashville Indie Spotlight’ Album Released on iTunes, Kate Tucker and Jillian Edwards Perform Live Tonight

The Nashville scene is getting bigger and bigger every day. From country queens Taylor Swift and Kacey Musgraves raking in the awards to Blake Shelton and Keith Urban taking over the TV, Music City is becoming the nation's new capital. Now Tone Tree Music has released their second annual Nashville Indie Spotlight. The 30-track iTunes album is being kicked off tonight with live performances from Kate Tucker & The Sons of Sweden, Jillian Edwards and many more.

Shawn Fowler, founder of Tone Tree Music, released a statement to the press about his decision to dig deep into the Nashville underground:

“I decided to do Nashville Indie Spotlight in late 2012 when one day I realized all the incredible talent I was fortunate to work with each day. I had this desire to find a way to let the world know about the independent talent here in Nashville and shine a spotlight on the growing independent artist community here. These are artists that are independently creating music, building teams, marketing, releasing and touring their art in their own distinct way. Nashville Indie Spotlight is just one way to bring them all together for a moment to let the world know how deep, rich, diverse and talented this community really is.”

Artist Kate Tucker released a statement to the press about the spotlight:

"The Nashville Indie Spotlight is a shining example of the creative energy and collaborative potential that is growing exponentially here in Nashville right now. We are so grateful to be part of this inspiring independent scene and are thrilled to be featured on the Spotlight alongside some of Nashville's finest independent artists. I really feel like one day we'll look back on this time and say it was like Seattle in the nineties or New York in the seventies."

Tucker will perform live tonight at the The Stone Fox alongside other featured artists, including Korby Lenker, Shannon Labrie, Jillian Edwards and Emily West & K.S. Rhoads.

The second annual Nashville Indie Spotlight is available now on iTunes.
