The S.E. Hinton coming-of-age classic "The Outsiders" is now a multi-Tony-nominated Broadway musical as of recently, following the famed Francis Ford Coppola movie adaptation.
The stage production of the same name was recognized with 12 awards in the upcoming ceremony, one of which sees it in the running for Best Musical, alongside Best Score, Best Book Of A Musical, and Best Leading Actor In A Musical, among others.
Produced by Academy Award-winning actress Angelina Jolie, the production is headlined by Main Stem debutant Brody Grant in the role of Ponyboy Curtis. It is co-authored by Adam Rapp and Justine Levine, both of whom wrote the songs alongside Jamestown Revival.

In an interview with PEOPLE magazine, Jolie said that she felt honored to have been onboarded as a lead producer for the production. The actress added that she was inspired to create the adaptation due to her strong feelings about "this material and this creative team."
All in all, the 48-year-old Jolie expressed that she sees the whole process as a "privilege," doling out high respect for Broadway itself and those who toil within.
In a separate statement to Extra TV, Levine raved about the performance of Jolie's daughter, Vivienne, in the musical, saying, "Viv is one of the greatest humans I've ever met... I just think she's one of the wisest little greasers I've ever met."
"I think, so much about this show is reconnecting with your inner child, and to have the privilege of working alongside this brilliant 15-year-old and [hearing] her perspective and also learn the lesson of... speaking when you have something to say or learning how to give energy into a space..."
"She's a wise little greaser," added Jolie with a smile, according to Extra.
It is worth noting that the producer and co-author pair, Jolie and Levine, joined together at the April red carpet opening night of "The Outsiders" in the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, which could have fueled the recent rumor that the two are dating, at least according to the website Deuxmoi.
The tip-off coincides with the increasingly publicized roll-out of the production, culminating in the opening night, as it was reported just last month.
The tip read: "The Broadway community seems to think Angelina Jolie and Justin Levine are dating." The anonymous source even claimed that they "went on vacation together" before opening night.
With the closeness that Jolie's daughter Vivienne exhibits with Levine, this dating scenario could be very possible.
