Update: Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo to Host 'Wicked' Film’s Behind-The-Scenes NBC Special

Fans of the beloved Stephen Schwartz Broadway musical "Wicked" are in for a treat as the highly-anticipated release of the production's film adaptation will be accompanied by an NBC special behind-the-scenes program headlined by stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.

The two-part film will premiere in theaters on Nov. 27, with the NBC special airing two days before that on Nov. 25.

About the NBC Special Program for the 'Wicked' Movie

In commemoration of what many consider the generation-defining cinematic event of the year, global superstars and Broadway alums Erivo and Grande will lead an ensemble of preeminent stars in a journey of creating a fresh and engaging new look Universal Pictures' version of Oz.

The show will unveil a behind-the-curtains perspective to die-hard and casual fans alike, providing a "first seat" view to fantastical sets created specifically for the movie.

Joining Erivo and Grande are Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Jonathan Bailey, and more, all of whom are set to host the thrilling behind-the-scenes special, where you can see the cast recalling personal memories, intimate video diaries, and other "Wicked" secrets.

All in all, the special culminates in the debut of a world-exclusive scene from the upcoming film adaptation.

The "Wicked" movie stars Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda. Joining them is Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, Ethan Slater as Boq, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, Peter Dinklage as Dr. Dillamond, and Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard.

Principally based on Gregory Maguire's bestselling novel of the same name, Wicked is adapted for the silver screen by the Broadway production's very own book writer Winnie Holzman.

Consequently, the film's music is led by legendary Grammy and Oscar-winning composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz, who originally penned all the compositions for the classic stage musical production.
