Phillip-Michael Scales Announces New Tour Dates Supporting Keb’ Mo’, Eric Gales, and The Heavy Heavy

Nashville-based artist Phillip-Michael Scales has announced a series of new tour dates supporting blues icon Keb' Mo', which will kick off on May 31 and will include stops along the East Coast up to the Midwest.

"Keb' Mo' is an incredible songwriter and a total legend," said Scales, who grew up closely alongside his blues idol and close family friend: BB King. " I'm stoked to sit side-stage and learn. We're actually playing a venue that my Uncle B played."

Scales will also open dates for American guitarist Eric Gales and retro-inspired rock group The Heavy Heavy, both of which will take place this coming May. For the full list of the artist's shows, click here.

Scales' 'Light Up The Sky' Off Upcoming Album 'Good to be Here'

Scales has performed with a variety of like-minded and equally blues-loving musical acts like the Fantastic Negrito, Jerry Cantrell, Anderson East, Guster, David Cook, Billy Raffoul, Crystal Bowersox, and more.

In all of the stages he shared, Scales has committed to a particular style of blues mixed with rock'n'roll he calls: "Dive Bar Soul," something he infused his breakout 2021 LP "Sinner-Songwriter" with.

Since then, his acclaim has taken off thanks to releasing a string of well-received singles soon thereafter, with songs like "Better Than You," "My Oh My," and his latest, "Light Up The Sky," an anthemic and inspirational roots-rock joint that gives nods to Stax Records while putting on show Scales' one-of-a-kind songwriting.

"There are a lot of highs and lows in this business," shares the artist. "It takes so much to make an artist's career viable enough for an industry person to take a chance on them."

I wrote 'Light Up The Sky' when I was in one of those valleys and it became my anthem," he continues. "I remember walking around Detroit on Christmas Eve, singing it to myself as I hung posters in 20-degree weather... It's my personal little motivator."

"Light Up The Sky" is the lead single from Scales' forthcoming LP: "Good To Be Here," produced by GRAMMY-nominated Dan Knobler, out later in Spring and now available for pre-order by clicking here.

Today, he also shares a performance video for "Light Up The Sky," featuring Knobler (guitar), Mary Hull (keys), Terence F. Clark (drums), Alec Newnam (bass), Nikki Morgan (backing vocals), Larry Jenkins (trumpet), Amber Woodhouse (tenor saxophone), and TJ Blake (baritone saxophone).
