Award-winning New Orleans-based guitarist and singer-songwriter Anders Osborne shared his "pick-me-up" anthem "Reckless Heart" last Thursday, March 21, marking the second lead single he has released off of his upcoming album "Picasso's Villa," out April 26 through 5th Ward and Missing Piece Records.
Rallying Positivity with a 'Reckless Heart'
Osborne's new single is among the impending album's most inspiring tracks and is an extension of the record's message of self-acceptance. In the track, the artist is essentially saying that it is perfectly fine to tackle a new day earnestly and honestly by being how we truly are.
Debuted by Relix Magazine, it described the track as a song soaked with "resilience" and "positivity," simply telling its listeners to "enter each day with optimism."
"I wanted to write a tune about kicking down my front door first thing in the morning as I entered the day," explained Osborne. "A feeling of excitement and confidence. Engaging and investing my heart in something I believe in, even when other people's opinions and values can resonate louder than my own intuition. I stay optimistic, It works!"
"Reckless Heart" is the follow-up release to Osborne's first lead single off of his forthcoming record, "Bewildered," which contrasts his recent positivity anthem as it thrusts a politically charged recap of the civil unrest our society has gone through in the past four decades.
Despite the harsh reality highlighted in his prior single, the Americana mainstay still marches on with a beat of positivity, centering the song's core message in what he describes as life's duality of "love and fear."
These two songs encapsulate Osborne's "Picasso's Villa" and the condensed story of American life in the past few years it is trying to tell; a chronicle of deep joy and peace despite the overwhelming confusion we were inundated with.
