'The Queen of Versailles' Musical Synopsis and Cast

Like the 2012 American documentary film of the same name, the upcoming musical centers its narrative on socialite and pop culture icon Jacqueline "Jackie" Siegel and her husband, David "Timeshare King" Siegel, alongside their eight children.

The musical follows the Siegel family as they set out on an endeavor to build the biggest and most grandiose private estate across the US in Orlando, Florida, only to have their dreams of an opulent lifestyle be thwarted by the Great Recession of 2008.

"The American Dream is still under construction," reads the tagline for the musical plastered on the production's official website.

Joining Chenoweth in the Boston run are Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham as David; Melody Butiu as Sofia Flores, known for "Here Lies Love;" and Nina White as Victoria Siegel, known for "Kimberly Akimbo."

Playwright Lindsey Ferrentino, who has written for "Ugly Lies the Bone" and "Amy and the Orphans," will be penning the musical's book, while the Tony-winning director of "Parade" and "Once on This Island," Michael Arden, will be helming the production.

The rest of the cast members, alongside members of the creative team, are yet to be revealed.

As for the musical's producers, they are comprised of Bill Damaschke, Seaview Productions, and Chenoweth herself, under her production banner Diva Worldwide Entertainment.

Tickets for the musical's world premiere will start selling for the general public on Feb. 28 at the Emerson Colonial Theatre's official website.
