Laufey, the Icelandic singer-songwriter that became famous for her new approach to Jazz, is preparing for back-to-back concerts in the capital of the Philippines, performing alongside the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra this coming May 28 and 29.
Laufey's Much-Awaited Concert Return in Manila
The concert, dubbed "Night At The Symphony" was originally a one-off show to be held within the elegance of the PICC Plenary Hall, before the fervent demand necessitated a second date.
Laufey herself was blown away by the reception and announced the additional showing on her X (formerly Twitter) account, writing, "Manila, I'm blown away by the response so far! I'm so excited to share that I'm adding a second night of 'A Night At The Symphony' on May 29th."
Local events organizer Karpos Multimedia has also released an announcement on Instagram regarding the added date and shared that general ticket selling for this impromptu second show will start on Friday, Jan. 12, at 10 AM, via the Tickelo website.
However, at the time of writing, the Artist Presale tickets for the two dates have already been sold out. General tickets will cost as follows: P2,750 for balcony seats, P4,370 for lounge seats, P5,450 for VIP seats, and P5,990 for SVIP seats.
Would-be attendees of the upcoming Laufey concert are reminded that wearing formal or semi-formal attire is required as PICC personnel may turn away concert-goers who show up in shorts, tank tops, or sandals.

Laufey Enjoying a String of Commercial Successes
Laufey's imminent return to the Philippines comes off the back of her recent successes, including a past performance in the country last May 2023 at the Filinvest Tent in Manila, where she sang her hard-hitting viral songs "From the Start," "Bewitched," "Valentine," and "Let You Break My Heart Again," among others.
To date, the Icelandic jazz icon described this particular concert as her "biggest" so far, as posted on the artist's official Instagram account accompanied by pictures taken during the packed show.
This sentiment was echoed by many of her fans, with one commenter writing: "Tickets sold out in a minute, so sad [I] wasn't able to watch you."
On top of this, rave reviews for her latest album release "Bewitched" have bubbled up to the surface following its consecutive weeks at the no. 1 position in Billboard's "Traditional Jazz Albums," with it currently at the no. 2 standing next to Frank Sinatra's "Ultimate Sinatra" record.
Critic Hannah Mylrea from NME gave the newest project from Laufey five out of five stars, saying, "The Icelandic-Chinese star's dazzlingly second album is confident and musically ambitious, melding jazz, pop and modern classical composition."
With this string of "wins" under her belt, fans are eager to see her in person and in more projects, as evident in the sold-out Artist Presale of her upcoming consecutive shows in Manila.
