Allegations are flying that Nigella Lawson may be a cocaine addict. These latest claims follow the scandal that erupted when photos of her estranged husband, Charles Saatchi, choking her were published.
It has been a crazy year for Nigella Lawson and it seems that things are just getting worse. The celebrity chef now finds herself involved in a messy court case.
Two of her former assistants, Francesca and Elisabetta Grillo, are being sued for allegedly stealing $500,000 from Lawson’s estranged hubby. According to court documents, the sisters are alleging that Lawson allowed the sisters to steal from Charles, as long as they kept her dirty little secrets private.
But what secrets are worth half a million to keep quiet? The Grillo’s testimony claims that they were being compensated for keeping Lawson’s decade long drug addiction quiet.
Of course, that’s all changed since the messy lawsuit occurred. Now, the sisters are spilling all of the beans, including claims that Lawson has been getting stoned every day, on cocaine and marijuana, for over a decade.
This isn’t the only news that Lawson is making headlines for. Earlier this year, her husband was seen choking her outside of a London restaurant. When Charles was questioned about it, he actually criticized his wife’s handling of the situation:
"I feel that I have clearly been a disappointment to Nigella during the last year or so, and I am disappointed that she was advised to make no public comment to explain that I abhor violence of any kind against women, and have never abused her physically in any way."
He also issued a statement, following public outcry, denying he hurt his wife:
"There was no grip, it was a playful tiff. The pictures are horrific but give a far more drastic and violent impression of what took place. Nigella's tears were because we both hate arguing, not because she had been hurt. We had made up by the time we were home. The paparazzi were congregated outside our house after the story broke yesterday morning, so I told Nigella to take the kids off till the dust settled."
