Fleeting memories immortalized through iPhone photography is what the upcoming "I Remember You" exhibition in Paris will celebrate starting Friday, November 10.
It will feature works from acclaimed artists Vivien Liu, Malin Fezehai, Mika Ninagawa, Karl Hab, and Stefan Ruiz. The display will be held at the Salon Corderie in Le Marais, Paris, until Saturday, November 11, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
All highlighted works were shot with an iPhone 15 Pro Max with its seven lenses, 48MP main camera, and 5x Telephoto capabilities, enabling artists to evoke snapshots of ephemeral perspectives vividly.
The exhibition's curatorial advisor, Isolde Brielmaier, PhD, told Apple that "I Remember You" is essentially an initiative that brings five incredible photographers together in an opportunity to showcase "moving glimpses of life, preserved in time."
Artists Capturing Precious Moments With iPhone 15 Pro Max
With a background in architecture, Hong Kong-based photographer Vivien Liu developed a love for photographing structure-ridden landscapes. According to Liu, the iPhone 15 Pro Max proved to be "indispensable" in this endeavor with its 5x lens as she tries to "zero in" on the aged buildings around her.
Malin Fezehay is an Eritrean/Swedish photographer who received the 2015 World Press Photo Award for the way she depicted a wedding of Eritrean refugees in Israel that she shot using an iPhone. For Fezehay, the iPhone's integration into her workflow made it easier to "capture life as it happens."
Opting for her specialty in vibrancy and ethereal-like imagery, Mika Ninagawa, a photographer from Tokyo, made full use of the 15 Pro Max's ability to take in lush colors. Ninagawa's work revolves around flora, fauna, landscapes, and empowered women in bright, vivid, dreamlike colors.
Karl Hab is a photographer currently living in Paris. His indulgences include aviation, design, and fashion, all of which he tries to incorporate into his brand of photography, and naturally, his style invites more action-oriented travel shoots. In Hab's mind, the iPhone is the perfect "third-hand" that helps him immortalize moments how he wants to and when he wants to.
Through the exhibition, Brooklyn photographer Stefan Ruiz hopes to impart a sense of appreciation for how informal portraiture can capture glimpses of characters in anyone. With the iPhone 15 Pro Max, Ruiz told Apple that he was able to make his shoots "feel less formal, which helps make the subjects feel comfortable."
"When they're able to pass the phone around to see and comment on the images, it makes the whole process feel more collaborative," he added.
