Amanda Bynes Mental Health and Illness Update: Fit Enough for DUI Trial, Leaving Rehab by Christmas? [RUMORS]

There has been another major announcement regarding the condition of Amanda Bynes’ mental health. The actress’ illness must be improving, because she was recently declared fit enough to stand trial for DUI. This latest news follows rumors that Bynes could be leaving rehab before Christmas.

According to TMZ, Amanda Bynes has been deemed competent enough to stand trial. This is a major step towards progress, considering the severity of Amanda’s condition. The major gossip site made headlines for revealing that Amanda would be appearing in front of the judge sooner than expected:

“Amanda Bynes is mentally capable of understanding the nature of the criminal charges she faces, and as a result the road is now clear for her to stand trial for DUI. Amanda's case was in Mental Health Court this AM, and the judge read the court-ordered medical evaluation of the actress, and determined she is now competent to face the DUI charges.“

Of course, this isn’t the only news to come out of the TMZ headquarters. The popular gossip rag also claimed that Amanda would be released from rehab before the end of the month, telling its viewers:

“Amanda's meds and psychological counseling have sufficiently stabilized her so her doctors will let her leave the Malibu rehab facility where she's been held since September…Doctors will release Amanda to her mom, who will then take her to the family house and provide supervision. The move will take place sometime next month.”

When it comes to TMZ, however, Amanda’s mom Lynn offers some words of caution. When speaking with People, her mom informed readers that the tabloids get it wrong most of the time:

"I would really like everyone out there to know that almost 99 percent of the things written about my daughter in various media outlets are false or misleading. Unless it's a statement issued by our family attorney, Tamar Arminak, please take everything you read about Amanda with a grain of salt."
