Xbox One Release Date, Price and Titles Launch After Jimmy Fallon PS4 Preview

The new generation of video game consoles are finally here. So breakout the big screen and the bean bag chair, and get ready to game until your thumbs bleed. Last week, Jimmy Fallon showed the world what the PS4 could do. However, with the Xbox One's release date fast approaching and the system's impressive launch titles, Sony is looking at some pretty tough competition. But is the Xbox price worth it?

The Xbox One hits shelves Friday, November 22 or Thursday November 21, if you feel like waiting outside in the cold. The system sales for $499 retail.

The Xbox One includes several exclusive launch titles including, Dead Rising 3, Forza Motorsport 5, Killer Instinct, and Ryse: Son of Rome, as well as various cross-platform titles.

The PS4 launched last week and has been flying off the shelves. However, Sony is planning to keep the system well stocked. Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House recently spoke with Game Informer about the availability of the PS4:

"[This is] the first platform launch that I've ever been involved with where we've had such a good production ramp up and a good sense of supply. I think that we will be in good supply in the countries that we've launched in...We are ensuring that we have the broadest reach to ensure that people are satisfied, especially when they've been loyal to brand for so long. On the other hand, we’re not engendering frustration by having a shortage of supply. I think through the holiday season that we’ll be in good supply."

Although, not all the reviews are glowing. Fortune’s JP Mangalindan's review is one example:

"Think of the PlayStation 4 as a device with great potential, just one that developers haven't tapped into much yet – at least, based on my limited time with it. There isn't any one feature or game I've played that screams ‘next generation.’ Games I've played with run buttery-smooth and sport some great eye candy, but haven't exactly 'wowed' me, and new features like the controller touchpad have yet to be used in an innovative way."
