Acquitted Trayvon Martin killer George Zimmerman was arrested on Monday for allegedly assaulting his current girlfriend. Zimmerman reportedly threatened Scheibe with a shotgun after he choked her. Now Zimmerman has been released on bail, however, his 2nd Amendment rights have been temporarily revoked. Zimmerman is not allowed to possess a gun for the time being.
George Zimmerman was charged with felony aggravated assault, this past Monday. The controversial killer allegedly held a gun on his current girlfriend, Samantha Scheibe.
Scheibe reportedly refuses to appear on camera unless she is paid for an interview, leading many to believe that she set Zimmerman up for the big payday. WKMG's Channel 6 reporter, Erik Sandoval, commented on the issue:
"I did actually speak to her at noon today after our story aired last night at 11. She wants to make it absolutely clear. She says that she and her daughter did not set Zimmerman up for what happened on Monday at her home in Apopka."
Seminole County Judge Fred Schott presided over Zimmerman's hearing. Zimmerman's bail was raised to $9,000 from the normal $5,000 amount. Zimmerman was also ordered to wear an electronic monitor to ensure that he stays away from the Scheibes. Zimmerman has also been barred from baring arms until further notice. He is due back in court on January 07, to face felony assault charges.
Zimmerman's soon-to-be ex wife, Shellie, recently spoke to NBC's Matt Lauer on the Today Show:
"This person that I'm married to that I'm divorcing, I've kind of realized now that I don't know him. And I really don't know what he's capable of."
She went on to add that she was unsure if the Trayvon Martin slaying was indeed in self defense:
"I'm conflicted on that. I believe the evidence, but this revelation in my life has really helped me to take the blinders off."
