'Guardians of the Galaxy:' Collector End Credits Scene and Official Trailer Update [SPOILERS]

Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the most anticipated new films of 2014. The world got its first preview of the upcoming superhero flick, during the end credits scene for Thor 2: The Dark World. The coda introduced Benicio Del Toro's character, The Collector, sparking much interest in the movie. However, Thor 2 director Alan Taylor has a few issues with the scene. Meanwhile, GOTG director James Gunn is still giving fans the run around when it comes to an official trailer. WARNING SPOILERS FOLLOW!

Marvel fans got their first taste of the upcoming film, Guardians of the Galaxy, during the very bizarre end credits scene in Thor 2. However, The Dark World director, Alan Taylor, isn't too happy about the coda. Taylor recently told Bleeding Cool News about his distaste for the clip:

“I absolutely did not. I am very happy to not take responsibility. I wouldn’t blame it on James Gunn…Er, I wouldn’t attribute it to James Gunn. It’s clearly his sets and his characters...I am very happy not to take responsibility for that.”

Taylor later added:

“It’s a different tone. I would have shot it differently…The Guardians universe is really cool and wacky, but that sequence in the credits, I would say, is the only part of the movie where I’m happy to give the credit away."

James Gunn did take credit for the scene telling Crave Online:

"I got a script [the morning of shooting], and we did it in two hours at the end of a second unit day. It fits into our overall story of what's going on. I had talked to Kevin [Feige] about it and we decided the basics of what was going on. It was really late that we decided to put it on the movie. I mean really late. It wasn't that long ago we shot it."

In a separate interview with MTV News, Gunn spoke about Del Toro's flamboyant character:

“He’s out there man. He’s the best. He’s so out there. We just kept watching him on set and being like ‘Oh my God.’ He’s probably the character that was the most different from what I imagined. Although I did sort of say he’s like an outer-space Liberace. That’s what it says in the script, which he’s kind of doing. He really came in prepared and doing something utterly unique and he’s mesmerizing the whole time he’s in the movie.”
