Radiohead Registers Music Companies, a Sign Pointing to Imminent New Album

British band Radiohead appear to be gearing up for a new album. Various sources report the band's members as registering new companies, a trademark move they've previously employed ahead of albums or tours.

Radiohead have released their own work since 2007's In Rainbows, after a fruitful partnership with the major label music industry. For 10 years, the band issued albums via Parlophone (Capitol Records in the U.S.), culminating in their contract-fulfilling 2003 release, Hail to the Thief.

NME reported this week that Radiohead launched a limited partnership called Dawn Chorus LLP in October 2015. This mirrors similar actions the band have taken in advance of a new project, with their Xurbia Xendless Ltd. preceding the release of In Rainbows, and Ticker Tape Ltd. coming before 2011's The King of Limbs.

Consequence of Sound broke the news back in January. As it's now reported in updates, an additional company has recently been registered by the band -- one each for the alternate duties of album promotion and touring logistics:

"Radiohead recently established Dawnnchoruss LTD for the impending release of their new album. Dawn Chorus LLP was established for their upcoming world tour."

The aforementioned Kings of Limbs LP is Radiohead's latest full-length album. Because it has only eight songs, fans have been clamoring for more material in the past five years.

Numerous news outlets have been following any leads on a possible album. Pitchfork Media recently pointed to interviews with Radiohead's guitarist and drummer, along with photograph evidence of the band's progress in recording new music:

"The band has been working on the new LP for a while. In separate interviews given in 2015, Jonny Greenwood and Philip Selway discussed the band's progress, with Selway saying the recording would become 'quite a full schedule' in September. They were then photographed in the studio back in September, right before Dawn Chorus was established."

While the world patiently waits, have another look at the video for their 2011 single, "Lotus Flower," featuring some of singer Thom Yorke's finest dance moves.
