Oscar winner Hilary Swank and her former tennis pro boyfriend, Ruben Torres, are engaged. The Million Dollar Baby' star shared the news with her fans on Instagram and spilled some details about the proposal.
"Went on a hike and this happened!" she captioned a selfie of the two of them during their hike, holding her ring close to her chest. "I am so happy to announce the engagement to my dear Ruben."
The 41-year-old actress also tweeted adorable pic of the two kissing. "And then this happened....#sealedwithakiss," she wrote.
According to an eyewitness who spoke to People, the engagement likely happened when the couple attended the BNP Paribas Open tournament this weekend in Indian Wells, California, including the Moet & Chandon “Holding Court” champagne dinner on Saturday night. The pair looked “happy and inseparable.”
Swank and Torres began dating last summer, and made their first official appearance on the red carpet as a couple in December at an Art Basel event in Miami. She also took him to the WME pre-Oscar party last month.
Torres is a financial adviser and tennis coach at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. This will be his first marriage, and Swank’s second -- she was married to actor and director Chad Lowe for 10 years. They divorced in 2007.
Following her divorce, Swank dated Chad Campisi for five years, but they split in 2012. She also dated Laurent Fleury in 2014.
