Chris Botti and the New York Philharmonic Premiere Jazz at David Geffen Hall April 11

A treat for New York Philharmonic fans abound, Grammy-award winning trumpeter Chris Botti will stop by David Geffen Hall for a one-night only performance with on the N.Y. Phil's home turf. With Andy Einhorn on the podium, the evening should be an eclectic mix of jazz, pop and all things classical.

A frequent showstopper in any New York jazz club (with multiple stints at the ever-famous Blue Note) Mr. Botti is joined onstage by drummer Lee Pearson, bassist Richie Goods, guitarist Ben Butler, pianist Taylor Eigsti, violinist Sandy Cameron and singers Sy Smith and Jonathan Johnson.

This performance's mysticism is buttressed by its lack of a program announcement. That is, the music New York Philharmonic patrons will hear will be announced as its played--directly from the stage.

According to the New York Phil's website:

"Grammy Award-winning, chart-topping trumpet player Chris Botti - the versatile musician at home in jazz, pop, and classical - joins the New York Philharmonic for a special one-night-only concert. 'This performance defined why Botti has become the music world's best-selling instrumentalist.' (The International Review of Music)"

The performance will take place on Monday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. Of course, the premiere will take place at none other than David Geffen Hall. Tickets range from $59-$129.

Also, the evening will last approximately 2 hours with one intermission. Tickets for the evening can be purchased here.

Be sure to not miss out on a studded evening of jazz under the guise (or in this case, "roof") of the New York Philharmonic.
