'Transformers 4: Age of Extinction' Rumors: Optimus Prime, Dinobot Grimlock and Unicron Updates, Official Trailer Coming Soon

Transformers 4: Age of Extinction has wrapped filming and fans are eagerly awaiting a trailer. In the meantime, we are going to catch you up on all of the latest rumors about your favorite Autobots. Michael Bay apparently has big plans for Optimus Prime, Grimlock, the Dinobots and perhaps even Unicron.

Michael Bay is gearing up to hand over the reigns of the Transformers franchise, but before he can do it, he has big plans for the series. Last year, Michael Bay spoke to The Times about giving up the Autobots:

“Here’s the thing, it’s tough to find someone who’s done these kind of movies, and to have the complication of creating the new stuff that needs to be in this movie--not just characters but a new type of action, I hope--and that’s a lot for someone new to bite off. And so after this one I will leave it in the best hands possible. That’s the plan.”

Transformers 4 might also be Optimus Prime’s last film as well. A video has been leaked from the set in Hong Kong that implies Optimus Prime will die in the new movie. The video’s voice over was translated by Hollywood Hills to reveal Optimus Prime saying his goodbyes to both Mark Wahlberg (Cade) and the Autobots:

"There remains a price on my head, and I risk endangering you if I stay. Cade when you find the remaining stones, mark one as my soul. Defend this family Autobots, as they have you, goodbye, don't forget me."

A promotional decal was also leaked from tradeshows. The decal features Optimus Prime riding on Dinobot Grimlock.

There has also been a lot of speculation that Unicron will appear in the new film. With most of the Decepticons dead, the planet-sized villain is the perfect bot to usher in the Age of Extinction. Unicron's henchmen, Cyclonus, has already been confirmed, giving the rumors a little more weight.
