Paul Rudd Cast Rumors: ‘Ant-Man,’ ‘Anchorman 2’ and Kanye West Album [UPDATE]

Paul Rudd is a busy man as of late. The Anchorman 2 star’s name is making its way around the rumor mill. It has been reported that Rudd is in the running to play Ant-Man in the upcoming Marvel film. Rudd is also rumored to be making an Anchorman 2 album with rapper Kanye West.

Paul Rudd is reportedly on the shortlist to play Ant-Man in the upcoming film. Casting for the movie is expected to be announced before the year's end, however, The Daily Superhero is now reporting that Rudd is holding out for more money:

"One of the issues with signing Rudd right now is the pending release of his next potential blockbuster film, Anchorman 2. While Rudd is just a supporting actor in the film, the source says his stock will be as high as ever after the film becomes a huge hit this holiday season. (Some speculation by the source there but let's be honest in agreeing that Anchorman 2 will make a ton of box office cash.)"

Rudd can definetly be seen in the upcoming Anchorman sequel. Paul is being hush hush about the plot of the new film, however, he did tell Shortlist.com about what not to expect in the new film:

“We can talk about all the things you definitely won’t see in Anchorman 2. Well, let’s see now. There definitely won’t be a scene with frogs raining from the sky like in Magnolia. There definitely won’t be a scene…hang on, I’m thinking of things but they’re all so weird that they may actually end up in the movie.”

Rudd also opened up at the first film, adding:

“I read the script thought it was the funniest script I’d read in many, many years. I fought like hell to get a part in it. When we were making it, I remember thinking that I found it funny and thought other people would too, but I didn’t know if it would be a success. And after it came out, a lot of people were confused, saying, ‘This isn’t a very good satire of the news industry,’ and I thought, ‘That’s not what it’s about!’ They were critiquing it on the wrong level. I knew exactly what it was and I loved it. It’s interesting how popular it’s become in the years since.”

During MTV’s European Music Awards, Will Ferrell, in character as Ron Burgundy, told reporters that Rudd was working on a Anchorman album with rapper Kanye West. However, the album’s existence has yet to be confirmed.
