‘Avengers 2: Age of Ultron:’ Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and Magneto [UPDATE]

Avengers 2: Age of Ultron is about to begin filming and Elizabeth Olsen is updating fans about her character, The Scarlet Witch. The Scarlet Witch will join the Avengers, alongside her brother Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), despite their connections to the X-Men villain Magneto.

Perez Hilton quotes Elizabeth Olsen, who recently spoke about her character in an interview:

"She's never been created in a human form yet. There's never been a television show...And also there's been so many artistic renditions of her in the comics...And her life is insane."

Samuel L. Jackson first broke the news of Olsen’s casting in an interview with the Wall Street Journal:

“I don’t think we begin shooting before March of next year. I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. Olsen, but I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script.”

The Scarlet Witch is the daughter of X-Men villain Magneto and the twin sister of fellow Avenger Quicksilver. Kick A** star Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been cast as Quicksilver in the new film. Joss Whedon recently spoke with IGN about the brother/sister duo:

“You know, they had a rough beginning. They’re interesting to me because they sort of represent the part of the world that wouldn’t necessarily agree with The Avengers. So they’re not there to make things easier. I’m not putting any characters in the movie that will make things easier.”

Quicksilver has the power of superspeed, in fact he is so fast that he will be leaving some viewers seeing double. The character will appear in both Avengers 2: The Age of Ultron and the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past. American Horror Story actor Evan Peters will play the character in the X-series.

Avenger 2 assembles on-screen May 1, 2015, X-Men Days of Future Past opens May 23, 2014.
