Amanda Bynes 2013 Mental Illness Update: Health Improving In Time for Christmas Release, Drake Bell Contact Soon? [RUMORS]

According to new reports, Amanda Bynes health is improving. New rumors are flying that the troubled starlet, who has been publicly battling mental illness, may be released from her treatment center in time for Christmas. If true, Drake Bell may be contacting the actress shortly.

The world’s leading gossip site, TMZ, recently revealed that Amanda may be getting better sooner than anyone expected. According to the celebrity news outlet:

“Amanda's meds and psychological counseling have sufficiently stabilized her so her doctors will let her leave the Malibu rehab facility where she's been held since September…Doctors will release Amanda to her mom, who will then take her to the family house and provide supervision. The move will take place sometime next month.”

This isn’t just good news for Amanda, but for Drake Bell, too. The actor, who has worked with Amanda in the past, can’t wait to talk to his old friend. When speaking with TMZ, he told the cameras that, "As soon as she's allowed to make contact again I'd like to make sure she's alright.” The actor also stated that he tried reaching out to Amanda, but never received a response.

New reports that Amanda may be released seem to confirm earlier claims that the former child star has been allowed to leave her treatment facility on day passes. Fox 411 was among the first to report on her improving health, quoting a source who revealed:

“Amanda is being given two passes a week to go the beach, or out to eat and do things like that, accompanied by a professional handler. She is making great progress.”

But Amanda’s mother, Lynn, who was granted temporary conservatorship, warns against believing everything you read. During an interview with People, she cautioned readers:

"I would really like everyone out there to know that almost 99 percent of the things written about my daughter in various media outlets are false or misleading. Unless it's a statement issued by our family attorney, Tamar Arminak, please take everything you read about Amanda with a grain of salt."
