Chris Pratt's star is rising fast. The Parks and Rec funny man is starring in a number of upcoming movies, including Marvel's Guardians the Galaxy. Pratt can also be seen fighting alongside Batman in The Lego Movie trailer. Now Pratt is also rumored to be cast as the lead in Jurassic Park 4.
Chris Pratt, the funny fat guy from Parks and Recreation, has shed some weight and is ready to become an action star. Pratt showed his more serious side with the Academy-acclaimed films, Moneyball and Zero Dark Thirty.
Now Pratt is getting his chance to lead an ensemble cast in 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy. Pratt will be playing the ragtag group's leader Peter Quill aka Star-Lord. Quill might be the leader of the crew, but Pratt credits Bradley Cooper's Rocket Raccoon as the film's draw. Pratt spoke with Screen Crush about the cuddly, gun-toting critter:
"You think it’s a cartoon character, but it’s not, it’s a very real creature. [Rocket Raccoon has been] tortured his whole life and no one else likes him, so he’s lonely and he’s angry and it’s like, [there are] all these elements [to the character]. You sort of forget about that, you wouldn’t think about, [and] hopefully will come to life. I think it will and that’s why they hired a really good actor to do the role. I could not be more excited that Bradley Cooper is voicing Rocket Raccoon. It’s a great character. It’s probably the best character in the movie, just because it’s not what you would expect."
Pratt is also starring in the upcoming Lego Movie with Will Farrell and Elizabeth Banks.
Now rumors are circulating that Pratt is on the short list to star in the new Jurassic Park film, Jurassic World. Bryce Dallas Howard and Jason Schwartzman are also rumored to be joining the cast.
