Members of the original Broadway production of Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella are getting together for a special benefit concert for the Bucks County Playhouse's Oscar Hammerstein Festival. Stars Victoria Clark (The Light in the Piazza) Laura Osnes (Bonnie & Clyde) and Santino Fontana (Billy Elliot the Musical) will be together for the three day event bringing April and May.
Bucks County Playhouse's Oscar Hammerstein Festival Playhouse is produced by Robyn Goodman, Alexander Fraser, Stephen Kocis and Josh Fiedler.
Robyn Goodman released a statement to the press about this year’s event, stating (via Broadway.com):
"We remain committed to providing a home for talented writers to create new work, and give them a taste of the welcome retreat that Hammerstein found when he moved from New York to Bucks County in 1940,"
Alexander Fraser added on to the statement, saying (via Broadway.com):
"We continue to be inspired by Hammerstein's blending of dialogue and song in the seminal musicals he created. Almost a century later, they remain essential guideposts in the creation of modern musical theatre."
