The Iron Man movie franchise has made Roert Downey Jr a very rich man. Now the actor is spending money like there is going to be an Iron Man 4. The 48-year-old actor recently threw a lavish birthday party for his wife Susan Downey. The A-list bash, however, didn't include RDJ's old pal James Spader. There is no reason to believe that the Blacklist star has been blacklisted, however, the two will be fighting it out in 2015's Avengers 2: Age of Ultron.
Robert Downey Jr threw his wife Susan Downey a lavish party for her 40 birthday. The weekend-long event was held at the Cavallo Point Lodge in Sausalito, California.
Us Weekly is reporting that guests list included:
"Justin Theroux, Jason Bateman, Joel Silver, Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon, Jon Favreau, Maya Rudolph, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale."
Guest were also allowed to bring their children to the all-age event. To top things off, the icing on the cake was actually bacon. That’s right, the guest were served a bacon cake.
Robert Downey Jr's old friend, James Spader, reportedly wasn't in attendance. However, the two will once again share the screen together in the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios President of Production, recently spoke with the Huffington Post about Spader's role in the film:
"Well, I think it will be more than a voice role--we'll be capturing his face and his body to create a whole performance. He's a very unique and incredibly exciting and unpredictable actor. And Ultron in the comics is a robot, but what's cool about him in the comics--and certainly how Joss Whedon is interpreting him for the movie--is that he is much more than just a robot. That he's infused with much character. And I don't want to say too much, but you can imagine James Spader will be very dynamic in his portrayal of this character...We did not hire James Spader to do a robot voice."
Feige recently spoke with the Daily Mail about making an Iron Man 4, with or without Downey.
“The good news is, I don’t have to think about it for a few years. But I do think Tony Stark is like James Bond or Batman, and can continue with different filmmakers and different actors one day.”
