From “Silver Street,” North Carolina, all the way across “Jesusland,” to the United States of L.A., Ben Folds has been to known to rock a suburb and a b*tch or two. Now we know where the the “Brick” and “Boxing” singer/songwriter will be rocking this May. Folds will be joined by Sarah Hicks and The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra Downtown Cincinnati’s historic Taft Theatre this May. The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra is promoting Folds’ upcoming May 9 appearance via a press release that reads:
“He’s one of the most exceptional musicians of his generation, making headlines with everything from piano ballads to Dr. Dre covers. Ben Folds makes his Pops debut in this final concert of the Pops season, presenting his critically acclaimed Concerto for Piano and Orchestra, as well as showcasing his hit singles (characterized by his signature blend of rock, piano-pop and jazz) in orchestral light. Sarah Hicks returns to conduct this performance.”

As a fan of Ben Folds since Whatever and Ever Amen, I can tell you that there is nothing quite like seeing him perform live. Add on to that the enormous talent of the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra and you have yourself one hell of a night.
