Gwen Stefani had been doing her own thing for quite some time now, from being one of the coaches in The Voice to being Blake Shelton's team mentor for the show. It seems like her No Doubt band members, Tom Dumont, Tony Kanal and Adrian Young, just can't wait for her schedule to clear any longer and got themselves a new lead vocalist -- AFI frontman Davey Havok!
It is understandable that the 46-year-old rock star will feel bad that the band is replacing her with Havok -- after all, they've been a solid group for decades. This wasn't the case. Stefani reportedly didn't mind that her former band-mates moved on without her.
“Gwen was happy that Tony, Tom and Adrian have decided to form a band without her,” a sourced revealed to HollywoodLife exclusively. “There’s no animosity towards them, or likewise towards her. There was just a general acceptance that she needs to do her own thing, and so do they.”
According to the source, there is definitely no bad blood between Stefani and her No Doubt pals. In fact, the band is willing to work with Shelton's girlfriend if they finally found the right material for the collaboration.
"They haven’t ruled out working with her in the future," the source said. "Far from it, they’re open to having her collaborate with them, if the song is right.”
E! News reports that the band has "already recorded an album" with their new frontman, but it is still unclear if they'll retain the band name or change it.
