Could Warner Brothers Revise Its DC Film Schedule in the Wake of 'Batman v Superman'?

With the recent release of the latest trailer for Batman v Superman garnering such outstanding praise, could Warner Brothers be looking to revise their DC film schedule? What changes could we see from a potential scheduling shift, and what films will get pushed back?

There is no doubt that the latest trailer for Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was by far the best one released to date. There has been little in the way of negativity since its release online and during the Superbowl. The trailer was darker and more specific to the epic showdown that we will see unravel on the big screen when the film hits theaters next month.

Warner Brothers was hoping that this film would be the perfect launch pad for a Justice League film, but skeptics think that Warners may be considering laying more character groundwork before unleashing their big team up movie. The main reason for this is two-ply. Those few who have screened the film have nothing but praise for Ben Affleck's portrayal of the Dark Knight onscreen, and (although there are doubts) Jessie Eisenberg's portrayal of Lex Luthor is amazing. Secondly, the studio might be having doubts that BvS will reach the monumental heights that the studio is expecting.

According to a recent interview by Hitfix, Drew McWeeny has said that due to the early screening reactions to the film, the studio might be looking to reshuffle its current DC film schedule: "If I was a betting man, if i were going to lay a bet on what's going to happen... Suicide Squad they'll go all in on, they'll push all their chips on that and I think Suicide Squad is going to be a hit for them. I think Wonder Woman will be finished the way they're working on it right now, and I think they'll release it. I would be surprised if Justice League starts shooting when they say it's going to.

"I would be equally surprised if Zack Snyder directed it... My guess is what's going to happen is Justice League is going to get moved back, and that Ben Affleck Batman movie - that's going to be what ends up in that spot...they're going to need to lay some different ground work. I don't think this is going to be the springboard into the Justice League they wanted it to be."

Does this mean that there are troubled waters at Warner Brothers over the vision that Zack Snyder has for these films? The way that Ben Affleck's Batman moves is reminiscent to the way that the Caped Crusader moves and fights in the Arkham video game series. This series was extremely popular amongst fans of Batman. A Batman film would surely solidify Affleck as Batman before a Justice League film, but is it needed? The trailers lend to the speculation that Batman will be completely fleshed out by the credits in BvS. Do we need another Batman movie now, or is this a money grab attempt?
