Nickelodeon is reuniting some of TV's classic sitcom characters. TV legends Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams are putting an end to their long-rumored feud to guest star on Sam and Cat. Laverne & Shirley are not the only ones returning to the small screen. Happy Days creator Gary Marshall is getting back together with Scott Baio on an all new episode of See Dad Run.
Fans of the classic 70's sitcom Laverne & Shirley might want to tune into Sam and Cat this Saturday to see the show's stars reunite. Fans of Sam and Cat, however, most likely have no idea who Laverne and Shirley are.
The Sam and Cat Wiki offers a synopsis for the episode, titled ''#SalmonCat:"
"Sam and Cat are ordered to rename their babysitting business because it's too similar to Salmon Cat, a TV show from the '70s. Sam and Cat must track down the show's two original creators (played by Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams) and resolve their three decade-long feud."
Speaking on the long rumored feud between the former stars, Marshall told the Associated Press that there never was one:
"That was rumors. Any show you work on for eight years, you're gonna argue at some point. Way overblown."
Williams also echoed the statement, adding:
"Yes, it was a bit overblown."
The two women have apparently remained close over the years, despite rumors to the contrary.
Penny Marshall's brother, Happy Days creator Gary Marshall, will also appear on Scott Baio's new series, See Dad Run.
The gang all get together this Saturday, November 9, on Nickelodeon.
That is not the only reunion Sam and Cat have planned. Cast members from Sam's old show iCarly and Cat's Victorious are joining the spin-off in a special episode. J-14 is reported on the episode's plot, citing a summary:
"When Sam meets Cat's friend Jade from Hollywood Arts, Sam and Jade become friends, leaving Cat feeling a little left out. Taking some questionable advice from Nona, Cat decides to retaliate by 'stealing' a friend of Sam's--and it's Freddie Benson! As Cat tries to get cozy with Freddie, Sam finds out and goes after a friend of Cat's--Robbie Shapiro! The jealousy comes to a crashing climax at Fisherman's Wharf, where Dice has hired Sam to jump her motorcycle over a tank full of vicious man-biting tuna.
