Russian National Ballet Brings ‘Cinderella’ to New Jersey PAC

As a part of their current 2016 tour of the U.S., the world renowned Russian National Ballet Theatre will be bringing Sergei Prokofiev's 1945 classic, Cinderella, to the New Jersey Performing Arts Center Prudential Hall (NJPAC) in Newark on Thursday, March 10.

Since being founded in Moscow in the late 80s the Russian National Ballet Theatre has enjoyed a reputation for being a cut above many of its rivals and is now bringing Sergei Prokofiev's Cinderella to Newark in a production so epic it's bound to make an indelible impression:

"A company of 50 superb dancers performs one of the most enchanting tales of everlasting love, featuring a sprightly score by Prokofiev, lush scenery and colorful costumes.

"A rags-to-riches story about wishes that do come true, this classic ballet is directed by former Bolshoi ballerina Elena Radchenko in the grand tradition of Russian dance.

"This timeless ballet is sure to dazzle audiences of all ages with its magic, beauty and romance."

As dedicated to the classics like Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Sylvia and Don Quixote as the Russian Ballet Theatre may be, the company is equally interested in promoting the evolution of dance as an art form (via Excite):

"The company's primary principle is to not just carefully preserve the long-esteemed classical Russian ballet school; it also aims at developing new choreographic forms while alongside unveiling new directions, models and possibilities for dance."
