Boston Bomber Suspect Trial Update: Leaves Last Words Written on Boat Before Controversial Rolling Stone Cover

There has been a new update in the trial of the Boston Bomber suspect. According to new documents, the suspect left what he thought would be his last words on the boat that he hid in, during the epic manhunt. These latest revelations follow the controversial Rolling Stone cover which featured Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in a rock-star like pose.

Prosecutors are claiming that the Boston Bomber’s message will likely inspire other terrorists to take aim at the U.S. The defense attorney, however, isn’t so easily convinced. According to official court documents, his legal team paints a much different picture:

"On their face, Mr. Tsarnaev's alleged words simply state the motive for his actions, a declaration in anticipation of his own death. There is no express call for others to take up arms.”

The attorney further elaborated on his position:

"While the government may view these words as an implied 'clarion call' to other would-be radicals...it was law enforcement that originally leaked existence of the alleged boat writings to the press and it is the government that continues to broadcast the 'clarion' by repeating, emphasizing, and attributing inspirational significance to these words.”

These latest revelations come after Rolling Stone featured the young man (and alleged terrorist) on the cover of their legendary magazine. It sparked such outrage, the publication had to address claims that they were glamorizing terrorism:

“Our hearts go out to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing, and our thoughts are always with them and their families. The cover story we are publishing this week falls within the traditions of journalism and Rolling Stone's long-standing commitment to serious and thoughtful coverage of the most important political and cultural issues of our day. The fact that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is young, and in the same age group as many of our readers, makes it all the more important for us to examine the complexities of this issue and gain a more complete understanding of how a tragedy like this happens.--THE EDITORS”
