Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is back tonight with a brand new episode. A new teaser clip shows Agent Coulson, revealing the fact that he knows his eight-second death was a lie. The show also plans to boost its low ratings, by featuring an episode that focuses on the events of Thor 2: The Dark World. SPOILER WARNING!
In the newest episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Agent Coulson once again talks about being stabbed to death by Loki in The Avengers. This song is starting to get old, as Coulson cryptically mentions his brief demise in ever single episode. However, Marvel has revealed that we are getting closer to the truth this week in a new clip. The short video, released by Marvel, show's AC trying to console an unknown man, telling him:
“Listen to me. I’ve been where you are right now, so please believe me when I tell you, you don’t have to be afraid. I got hurt once. Pretty bad. I died. Some say it was only for eight seconds, but I know it was more than that. I know I wasn’t here anymore. I was there.”
The troubled soul asks Coulson more about what he can presume to be the after life, saying.“What’s it like?” Coulson simply responds, “It’s beautiful.”
This is reminiscent of how Buffy felt after she was brought back to life in Joss Wheldon's Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In that series, the lead character had a hard time dealing with life after death.
Marvel also has a few more tricks up it's sleeve, in order draw viewers back to the struggling series. Not only will tonight's new episode feature a special sneak peak at Thor: The Dark World, but events from the film will quickly take affect in the TV show. The official synopses for the Nov 19 episode of the series reads:
"The Well"--In the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film Marvel's Thor: The Dark World, Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pick up the pieces--one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team, on Tuesday, November 19 (8:00-9:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network."
