Tom Hiddleston on Loki, Death and a Spin-Off: Reveals 'Thor' Audition, Comedy Central and 'Avengers 2'

Tonight is the night that Loki takes over Comedy Central. Tom Hiddleston has been reprising his role for a series of AT&T style commercials, where the Asgardian leads a round table of small children. This is great news for Loki fans who fear that the character might die in Thor 2: The Dark World. However, fans are hopeful that the Avengers' villain will receive his very own spin-off film. During a recent series of interviews, Tom Hiddleston has cried and revealed that he organically auditioned for the role of Thor.

Rumor has it that Loki might die in the upcoming film, however, other spoilers seem to suggest that this is not true. If it is true, then we might not see any more Loki for a long time. MTV News recently caught up with Tom Hiddleston on the red carpet. The interview revealed that it might be his very last, as Hiddleston (fake) teared up a bit, and told the outlet:

"Oh man, I hadn't thought about until you told me. I just really miss it, man. You know, it's been, like, a really good time. You made me cry!"

He also managed to give a sincere answer, adding:

"It's been absolutely above and beyond my wildest dreams. I got cast four years ago. I came out to LA with some money I earned from British TV in my pocket, I did some auditions, and one of them was for Kenneth Branagh's Thor. Being Loki has changed my life."

Hiddleston, who was recently on Chelsea Lately, revealed his audition was actually for Thor and not Loki. Hiddleston told the host about how he beefed up for the role, saying:

"I basically went from 180 pounds to 198 pounds and I had something like seven percent body fat. I auditioned and I swung the hammer but they were always looking for Loki as well, and I think the closer I got, they were like, 'You should play the bad guy.'"

The host then suggested that Hiddleston get his own movie, to witch he strongly agreed.
