'That Awkward Moment's' Zac Efron Career Rehab and Dating Rumors: Did Cocaine Addiction Kill New Movie 'Parkland'?

Zac Efron rose to fame in the mid-2000s in the hit High School Musical film series. Since graduating from the Disney Channel, Efron's career has been hit or miss. Parkland, Efron's first release since allegedly getting out of rehab for cocaine addiction, flopped at the box office. However, the actor's new movie, That Awkward Moment, is expected to resurrect his star status. New rumors that Efron is now dating Lily Collins could also help him recover.

Following a string of unsuccessful independent films, including his latest release Parkland, some critics are wondering if Zac Efron needs career rehab. Radar Online recently quoted an anonymous source who said just that:

"Zac’s movie career is in desperate need of rehab. It could be that he’s making poor choices when it comes to movie roles, or he may just not be getting offers for good movies. But either way, he needs to revamp his career and make a major comeback--or else he’ll be forgotten.”

However, Efron's more recent big box office films, The Lucky One and The Lorax, were both successful. Efron also stands a very good chance of reviving his career in his upcoming films That Awkward Moment and The Neighbors. The two 2014 comedies are bound to bring Efron some much needed success in the new year.

Efron also reportedly has actress Lily Collins helping him get back on his feet. Radar recently spoke with another source about the couple, saying:

“Lily is the perfect girl for Zac to be dating right now. She’s young, gorgeous and smart. But more than anything, she doesn’t drink or use drugs. Zac knows if he wants to save his career and his life. He needs to stay sober, and it’s making his transition a lot easier to be dating someone like Lily.”
