There has been another major update in the upcoming movie, 50 Shades of Grey. It was just announced that Victor Rasuk will be joining the cast, alongside Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson and Luke Grimes. Unfortunately, after Charlie Hunnam quit the film, the 2014 release date may be pushed back.
Victor Rasuk is the newest actor to join the film adaptation of EL James wildly popular novel, Fifty Shades of Grey. You may recognize Victor for his breakout role in...um...we’re not sure either. But our friends over at Perez Hilton say he was on How to Make It in America, an HBO series.
That makes at least two actors in the upcoming film that have called HBO home. Luke Grimes recently joined the cast as well. Fans will recognize the gorgeous actor from this season’s True Blood.
The hunk even got a shout out from the book’s author, EL James, on Twitter, where she announced that he would be playing the brother of Christian Grey:
“Get ready to be swept off your feet. Welcome Luke Grimes to #TeamFifty as Elliot Grey!”
The cast really seems to be shaping up, especially considering that Charlie Hunnam abruptly walked away from the project. Though the studio announced that it was a scheduling conflict, many feel that Charlie walked away due to the inordinate amount of fan backlash he received.
Regardless of the reason, Charlie left the studio in a tight spot. While the studio was able to hire another actor, Jamie Dornan, relatively quickly, it appears that filming has been pushed back. The Hollywood Reporter is claiming that the studio will lose an entire month of shooting:
“The production, which was scheduled to begin shooting in early November, will now begin filming on Dec. 2, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The delay raises the question of whether or not the film can be ready in less than eight months to meet its current release date of Aug. 1, 2014. If not, the film would likely be jettisoned out of the summer frame.”
