Marvel's new film, Guardians of the Galaxy, is starting to shape up. A new list of action figures from the upcoming Hasbro toy line has a few surprise names on it. Most notably, Nova, the human rocket, and the invincible Iron Man. Is a cameo appearance from Robert Downey Jr likely?
With Thor: The Dark World almost here and Captain America: The Winter Soldier not far behind, Marvel is setting the stage for a new group of superheroes. The Guardians of the Galaxy might not be household names just yet but the studio is making up for that an all star cast.
The cast Includes Zero Dark Thirty and Parks And Rec's funnyman Chris Pratt, The Walking Dead's Michael Rooker, and WWE's Dave Batista, alongside Vin Diesel, John. C Reilly, Benicio Del Toro and featuring the acclaimed Glenn Close as Nova Prime.
The film's latest addition was Hangover star Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon. Chris Pratt recently spoke with Screen Crush about Cooper's role in the film, saying:
"You think it’s a cartoon character, but it’s not, it’s a very real creature. [Rocket Raccoon has been] tortured his whole life and no one else likes him, so he’s lonely and he’s angry and it’s like, [there are] all these elements [to the character]. You sort of forget about that, you wouldn’t think about, [and] hopefully will come to life. I think it will and that’s why they hired a really good actor to do the role. I could not be more excited that Bradley Cooper is voicing Rocket Raccoon. It’s a great character. It’s probably the best character in the movie, just because it’s not what you would expect."
If the promise of a gun-toting raccoon and the film's A-list ensemble isn't enough to draw in viewers, Marvel might have one more trick up its sleeve. The film's toy line has been released and it reveals some surprise heros. Not only does the list include the increasingly popular character, Nova, it also features an Iron Man figure. This could mean that Robert Downey Jr could make a cameo in the film.
