It looks like Len Goodman was telling the truth a couple seasons ago when he promised that his leaving Dancing with the Stars was going to be more of a hiatus than a retirement. According to the latest gossip news updates, the longtime ballroom dancer turned reality TV judge will be returning for Season 22 of ABC's hit celebrity dance completion. Despite the growing anticipation, the network has yet to announce the 2016 cast lineup, but that hasn't stopped former favorite Kirstie Alley from venturing a guess. In a recnet interview the renowned Scientologist suggested that her former Cheers costar, Rita Perlman, would make the perfect new addition.
After taking some time to go back home to England to visit with his elderly mother, Len Goodman appears to have convalesced enough to return to Dancing with the Stars' rigorous schedule.
They may still be remaining tightlipped about the stars and the pros, but ABC has found it in their hearts to release an official list of Season 22's judges:
"Len Goodman will return to join judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Julianne Hough and Bruno Tonioli to critique the Season 22 contenders.
"Of course, the host with the most Tom Bergeron will be back too to keep the show on track."
Although no one seems to know for certain who will wind up competing in the year to come, Season 12 runner-up Kirstie Alley has a suggestion or two for who she thinks ABC should turn to to make 2016 special.
During a recent interview with Wet Paint, Kirstie joked that she thought the network should turn to another Cheers alum to spice up Season 22:
"I think Rhea [Perlman] would be good on Dancing with the Stars, because Rhea is a really good dancer.
"[But] I don't know if she'd do it.
"You have to take a big leap of faith before you do Dancing with the Stars."
What do you think of Dancing with the Stars keeping the casting process so hush-hush this year?
