A new report has surfaced that claims Dancing With the Stars pro Derek Hough broke up with Nina Dobrev, because she cheated on him with her ex-boyfriend, Ian Somerhalder. The Vampire Diaries co-stars are allegedly still friends with benefits. Meanwhile, things are heating up between Dobrev and her fellow cast mate, Paul Wesley. The TVD love triangle is starting to get very interesting.
A sneak peek from an upcoming issue of Star Magazine reportedly claims that DWTS pro Derek Hough broke off his short-lived romance with actress Nina Dobrev, because she was still sleeping with her ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder.
Early reports of the break up claimed the couple went their separate ways, because they both worked on separate coasts. DWTS films in L.A. and TVD films in Atlanta. Us Weekly quoted an unnamed insider who claimed, "The distance was too much to handle."
However, this may not be the case. It is widely known that Dobrev and Somerhalder remained very close after ending their three-year relationship earlier this year. The exs have spent an awful lot of time together, both on and off the set. Although, Somerhalder isn't the only co-star Dobrev has been close to.
Dobrev and TVD cast mate Paul Wesley have been reportedly spending a lot of time together. The two even went to a Halloween party dressed as former celebrity couple, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez.
Things also aren't looking too good for Dobrev and Somerhalder's on-screen romance. During a recent interview with Live With Kelly & Michael, Somerhalder told the host:
"You can't be too happy in Mystic Falls. He got the girl, finally. It's cute, man. You've got this guy who's a maniacal killer, with the same look on his face whether he's saving a kitten from a tree or ripping your face off, and he's in love. It's cute...And it's not going to last, probably."
