Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez haven’t been dating for a while, but it looks like their break up may still be weighing on the Biebs. In a recent interview, it appears that his ex-girlfriend was the inspiration for his new song, “Recovery.” Despite being photographed with what looks like drugs multiple times, the song isn’t about substance abuse.
The Biebs has broken bad. The young (and heavily tattooed) pop star has gotten into trouble a lot lately for his bad boy behavior.
Tabloids and gossip sites have published a number of photos where Justin appears to use drugs--from pouring water out of the bong in his vehicle to hitting a blunt. And over the summer, drugs were actually found on his tour bus, as New York Daily News reports:
“U.S. border agents found marijuana on one of the ‘Baby’ singer’s tour buses as it crossed into Detroit from Windsor, Canada--but Bieber wasn’t on it.”
Now, the Biebs is singing about recovery...though it’s not like you’re thinking. The artist discussed the song in a written statement, enlightening fans that:
“Recovery is an acknowledgement that in life you can’t just fall down and not get over things. You have to step up and recover. At the time, I was going through a very hard break up and when you’re going through stuff like that, you think that the world is just gonna end.
"Then you wake up the next day and realize that life has to go on. Recovery is that feeling you get when you start to move on and make things better for yourself, because yesterday is gone and tomorrow is here."
Gossip site The Hollywood Gossip is convinced that Justin is talking about Selena, however, we’re not so certain. After all, it seems like the Biebs has a lot on his mind lately. And apparently so does Selena Gomez. The singer recently broke down on stage, allegedly over Justin Bieber.
What do you think about the site’s claims. Is Justin’s new song about Selena? Do you think that they will ever get back together? Was Selena crying over Bieber?
