Aw, here it goes! Kel Mitchell is making his long-awaited return to Nickelodeon. The former Kenan and Kel star will be appearing in creator Dan Schneider's newest show, Sam and Cat. Jennette McCurdy and Araina Grande will be joined by the All That alumni in this Saturday's episode, titled "#PeezyB."
In the newest upcoming episode of Sam and Cat, Kel Mitchell returns playing rapper Peezy B. The Sam and Cat Wiki offers the following synopsis for the episode:
"Sam gets a job as the assistant to rapper, Peezy B. Meanwhile, Cat finds babysitting much more challenging without Sam around to help."
Jennette McCurdy recently spoke with HuffPo about working with the former Nick Star:
"I grew up watching Kel Mitchell on 'Kenan and Kel,' so when our executive producer told me he was gonna be guest starring and all of his scenes were with me, the child in me started screaming from excitement. When Kel first got to set, I was completely tongue tied, but he was so warm and easygoing that it quickly became comfortable and easy. He was hilarious!"
Mitchell apparently bonded with the show's stars, tweeting:
"Big shout out too my two talented lil sisters @jennettemccurdy and @ArianaGrande."
Kel's former co-star, Kenan Thompson, previously appeared as himself on the cross over episode of Sam and Cat's parent shows, iCarly and Victorious. At the time, Thompson spoke with Global Grind about the episode, saying:
"I actually just hope they enjoy the episode. But I hope it’s something funny that they can laugh at like that’s kinda what I’m there for--I’m not really there to play the superstar celebrity or however it’s written. I’m just trying to get some funny across like always. I just hope they enjoy it. It was so strange doing it because I don’t really look at myself like that, with a super-duper mansion like Andy Warhol pictures of myself, it was kinda humorous if you know what I mean. But it’s all good and I accept all that same love that people have."
"#PeezyB" airs Saturday, November 2 on Nickelodeon.
