'The Giver's' Taylor Swift Returns to Studio, Writing New Songs for Next Album

The Giver star Taylor Swift is taking a break from filming to work on her new studio album. Swift has officially announced that she has began writing new songs for her fifth record.

Pop-country sensation Taylor Swift tweeted on Tuesday that she has began working on her next record, saying:

"Sitting in the studio writing the next album (!!!!) and wanted to thank you for the American Music Award nominations!"

Swift recently received her sixth Songwriter/Artist of the Year Award. During her acceptance speech, she hinted at what to expect from her next record:

"I think the goal for the next album is to continue to change, and never change in the same way twice. How do I write these figurative diary entries in ways that I've never written them before and to a sonic backdrop that I've never explored before? It's my fifth album, which is crazy to think about, but I think what I'm noticing about it so far is it's definitely taking a different turn than anything I've done before."

Swift recently broke her label's no music between records embargo, when she released "Sweeter Than Fiction," from the One Chance film soundtrack. The starlet recently spoke with BBC Newsbeat about defying her label's orders:

"I had to fight to do this because I try to take a break in between albums and try and give people a minute to not hear me on the radio. I had to go around and ask people, 'Can I please, please put something out?' even though we're supposed to be going quiet. My management, my label were like, 'No new music until the next album comes out' Then I saw the movie and I was like, 'I have to be a part of this.'"
