Katie Holmes Returns to Broadway in 'Dead Accounts'

Actress Katie Holmes will be returning to Broadway this fall to star in a new family comedy "Dead Accounts".

The five-character comedy by Theresa Rebeck will be Homes' first major project since filing to divorce three weeks ago.

"I am thrilled to be coming back to the Broadway community and honored to be a part of this team," said Holmes in a statement.

The 33-year-old actress will portray a woman in her 30's, who is still living with her parents and trying to pull together her life as her brother returns home with secrets.

Jack O'Brien, three-time Tony Award winner, will direct the show. Pulitzer Prize finalist Theresa Rebeck is a prolific playwright who created the NBC musical drama, "Smash."

The play will mark Holmes' first return to Broadway since her debut in 2008 in a production "All My Sons" by Arthur Miller with mixed reviews.

"Dead Accounts" is set to open at the Music Box Theatre in New York this fall. Performance dates and other castings will be announced shortly.
