Season 12 of So You Think You Can Dance may be officially over as far as most of its fans are concerned, but for last year's Top Ten -- like Virgil Gadson -- there are still a few days still left in their 70-city tour. Gadson recently commented that, although he is very grateful for the opportunity, the four-and-a-half-month theatre tour has been anything but fun. For his part, Jim Nowakowski, who is also a part of the follow-up tour explained that in addition to the grueling schedule, the former contestants are also expected to perform a remarkable amount of routines in every show.
While Cat Deeley might already be free to enjoy So You Think You Can Dance's 2016 hiatus, Season 12's former contestants are not as fortunate.
During a recent interview with the Montreal Gazette, Virgil Gadson didn't paint the 70-city run, which ends January 28, in the brightest of lights, despite his best efforts to do so:
"When we have a day off, we get to book into a hotel...But otherwise, we drive to a city, do a show, get back on the bus and drive to the next city.
"I'm not complaining. This tour is a dream come true. The bus is equipped with bunks for everyone, and a lounge with a flat-screen TV and a kitchen. There's a bathroom, but we shower at the theatre."
Although he certainly couldn't be accused of complaining when he recently spoke to the Ottawa Citizen, Gadson's tour mate, Jim Nowakowski remarked that what fans might find most surprising about the theater run, as compared to the TV show, is the sheer number of routines they perform in a single night:
"They will be surprised at how many numbers we do -- at how energetic, lively and entertaining the show is... how it has something for young and old."
