A new four-part mini-series on Sky Arts entitled The Nightmare Worlds of H.G. Wells will debut new music by Elizabeth Fraser, mastermind behind the dream pop band Cocteau Twins. The score comes as a collaboration with her husband Damon and has been added to a trailed that recently surfaced about the series.
Elizabeth Frazer has since disbanded the Twins and has stayed out of the limelight. The Cocteau Twins produced eight albums, which include the critically acclaimed Blue Bell Knoll and Heaven or Las Vegas LPs.
Other collaborations have popped up over time, which include one with Massive Attack and a mere two singles from the Frazer brand.
The Cocteau Twins' 1996 final album Milk & Kisses was perhaps the last long form work she has contributed to over the years.
Per Fact Mag:
"[Frazer and Reece] have composed an operatic score for the upcoming series Nightmare Worlds of H.G. Wells - a four-part mini-series set to debut on Sky Arts January 28. The [mini-series] consists of four adaptations of stories by H.G. Wells and includes performances by Michael Gambon, Ray Winstone and Rupert Graves."
Her husband is also the drummer of Spiritualized and Lupine Howel.
This is not Frazer's first time on a score though. She has contributed music to the soundtracks of The Lord of the Rings and Cruel Intentions.
While she may have been a part of the seminal Cocteau Twins and involved in the indie-music scene, Rough Trade in Brooklyn has no plans to release or do an in-house premiere of the album.
There are also no reports of plans to release her and Reece's soundtrack for the Sky Arts series.
