When Ariana Grande and her boyfriend Nathan Sykes first met, it was love at first sight. However, the Sam and Cat star recently revealed that she had never met The Wanted singer before the two worked on the track "Almost is Never Enough" for the film Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.
The Daily Star recently reported that Ariana Grande and Nathan Sykes never met before dating and that they didn't even meet while recording:
“Our manager Scooter Braun emailed me and said: ‘Check this out.’ Nathan killed it. I had to go back in the studio and sing more because he came in and did these vocal gymnastics and took it through the roof. I was like: ‘This is my album, boy.’ We didn’t even meet until after that. But then we were both at an event and made eye contact and I thought he was really cute.”
Grande also went on to add that she is a little insecure sometimes, saying:
“I tear myself to pieces and I am an extraordinarily tough critic. In fact, I’m probably the most self-deprecating really-hard-on-myself person you’ve ever met in your life. I want to make sure I’m proud of everything I’m putting out there. I listened to a lot of 90s R’n’B while I was growing up and I wanted to create something that I loved to pieces with my first album.”
Grande isn't the only one in the relationship who is a little insecure. Sykes spoke with E! News about taking Grande home to meet his parents where he seemed dumbstruck that she was attracted to him:
"I took her back to Gloucester yesterday to meet all my family. I was so scared, you don’t even realize. But my family think she’s amazing and they’re like ‘Nathan, how?’ and I’m like ‘I don’t know. I don’t think anyone can ever punch above their weight, but I feel very lucky, put it that way" Adding: "She’s amazing, I’m so happy... She’s a really special girl, I think the world of her and I hope we’ll be together to a very long time.”
