There has been another major announcement from the 50 Shades of Grey movie. Luke Grimes will be joining the cast of the upcoming film, along with Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson. Luke, of ‘True Blood’ fame, will be filling the role of Christian Grey’s brother, Elliot Grey.
EL James created waves once again when she alerted the world to the newest cast member of the film-adaptation of her hugely popular novel, Fifty Shades of Grey. The 50-year-old author told the world via Twitter:
“Get ready to be swept off your feet. Welcome Luke Grimes to #TeamFifty as Elliot Grey!”
The latest announcement comes just a week after it was revealed who would be filling the role of Christian Grey. EL James made the big announcement, as she has for every other actor, on her Twitter feed. Jamie Dornan will be portraying Christian Grey, made possible after Charlie Hunnam quit the coveted role.
According to US Weekly, Dakota Johnson had a bit of insider knowledge. The source revealed that the young actress took part in the audition process:
"Dakota was there to act against them, they did some of the heavier scenes from the script and read their chemistry. Dakota's job is solid, they know that she can handle this role and they like her for it, when you meet her and talk to her you know that she's got the character in her."
Of course, these rumors come after speculation that Johnson may walk away from the film as well, as a source told E! News:
“Dakota is having a very hard time dealing with all the press. When she first got the role, it was way too much for her. It’s been tough.”
Of course, those sort of feelings are only natural, considering the backlash she received after news that she would be portraying Anastasia Steele hit Twitter. One reader told Classicalite:
“Dakota needs to GO! She is not the petite, pretty, doe-eyed, dainty and innocent Ana in the books. She has super small eyes, a boyish body (no assets!), elongated features and an angular face that makes her look really old for her age--paired with the fact that she smokes and has a past of drug and alcohol abuse…”
