Country star Jason Aldean's tour bus hit and killed a man who reportedly walked in front of the bus, in the early hours of Monday morning. The "Night Train" singer has since offered his condolences to the family of the pedestrian. Aldean was on the bus at the time and has reportedly postponed some tour dates as a result.
It's not uncommon to occasionally hear about a tour bus crash. From Metallica to Miranda Cosgrove, we hear new reports of them every few years. However, Jason Aldean's accident was different. At around 1:30 a.m. Monday, Aldean's tour bus struck and killed Albert Kennedy in Vincennes, IN. Kennedy allegedly walked in front of the oncoming bus.
Jason Aldean released a statement about the incident on various social media networks, saying:
"With a heavy heart, I'm sad to say that a man passed away last night after stepping out in front of my bus in Indiana. In all the years I've been touring and all the miles we've driven, nothing prepares you for something like this to happen. I'm praying for Albert Kennedy's family and friends today and ask that you do the same.”
The driver of the bus was reportedly not found at fault for the incident. TMZ is reporting:
"Cops tell us the driver did everything he could in an effort to minimize impact. Sheriff Michael Morris tells us the victim was often seen walking around town...but it's unclear why he walked into traffic."
Aldean's tour will resume in Tallahassee, Florida on September 5. As always, we will keep you informed on all the latest developments.
